Help with a wireless keyboard/mouse problem?

I got the lenovo wireless multimedia mini keyboard with the trackball. I am using a pc. I got it to work a few times, but now it’s not detected. The power is on, I can see the red glow from the trackball. I know its not my drivers, I checked device manager, I plugged in a regular wired usb mouse and that worked fine. I tried plugging it into another port and that didn’t help. Any suggestions how to fix this? There’s no install that came with the keyboard and there’s no help on the lenovo website.

Rate my customized HP, based on my needs?

So, I’m heading off to college in the fall and I need a desktop-replacement laptop. I’ve never had my own laptop before. I want something that’s fast, good for basic downloading, net surfing, social networking, and moderate gaming. I also want something that I can reliably use and something that I’m fond of 10 years from now. I’m with this laptop for the long-haul. So here are the specs.

HP HDX16t (16-inch)

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

Memory: 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Hard drive: 320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

Graphics card: 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M

Display: 16.0" diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920×1080p)

Primary optical drive: Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer

Personalization Webcam + Fingerprint Reader with HP Imprint Finish (Fluid)

Networking: Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card

Keyboard: Full Size Backlit Keyboard

Primary battery: One 6 Cell and One 12 Cell Lithium Ion Batteries

HP Printer: HP Deskjet F4480 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier

So, I realize that some of its specs are not necessary (especially the light-up keys lol)… But would you recommend upgrading or downgrading anything because I just want something that’s fast, so if I can’t physically see the difference then there is no point I presume?

Also, is this a good deal?? I know that these "customize your own PC" things rip you off a lot of the time. But I simply can’t find any laptop of this brand with these specific specs online or in stores.

Price: ,529.98 after instant rebate. Parents would pay ,000, I would pay the rest.

Thank you.
overkill?? LOL oh god… how so?
The 64-bit operating system, 320GB hard drive, 4GB memory, webcam and fingerprint reader, and 6 cell battery are standard.
